Monday, Dec 3 2007 - It's Been A While
View CWCEBMEY's food & exercise for this day
It's been a while since I've blogged. So many things to talk about and I am so very tired. I've been at my new office for 6 weeks and the facilty has been open for a month. It makes my job more interesting, new challenges, and a lot more walking. With all the walking I have been doing, I can't figure out why I'm not losing any weight. I go up and down the same 3-4 pounds. But to be fair, I'm not exercising and I should be paying better attention to my choice. If not my choices, then portion control.
I need to get back to working out. I know that if I did, I would have more energy, feel better, look better. Exercise is what I need to help with the holidays.
My mom came up for a 10 day visit. She arrived November 17th and left November 27th. We spent a lot of time together. My brother, who lives in New Zealand, flew into LAX on the 16th. We decided to meet in Las Vegas for Thanksgiving because between San Diego and Salt Lake City, Las Vegas is about in the middle. It was a good trip.
But between my mother going through all of my kitchen cupboards to re-organize me, my son moving back home, and all the stuff for Christmas decorating scattered throughout the living room waiting to be put up for display, on Friday. . . . my home was a mess. So instead of dealing with it, I went out to Stuart Anderson's for dinner. Then Saturday morning, I got busy. First, I unpacked the hutch and put in the new angels that my mother brought up from San Diego. Then I had to pack the old stuff. Then, I had to pack my son's dishes and other odds and ends that he doesn't need while being here. After that, I cleaned and began to decorate the house. By Sunday, I was finished decorating and did about 6 loads of my son's laundry. I have about 10 more loads (including my stuff and my husband's stuff).
And here is the best part. . . . about 10 days ago, my son got a new puppy. 9 weeks old, cute and adorable AND a lot of work. But he has been a good puppy. Easily distracted with a chew toy, goes potty outside when you take him and now he goes on the newspaper too (only 1 accident today).
It's no wonder that I'm tired. And I think if I started working out, I would have more energy to deal with all this stuff. . . this is just normal stuff, every day life, the stuff that I would miss if it weren't around.
I had a goal to lose 25 pounds by Christmas (made that one in September / October). But it now looks like a better goal would be to NOT gain weight over the holidays. Thanksgiving is over and so far so good.
Well, I need to get busy and pay some bills. Then, I'll be able to figure out what is left over for Christmas shopping.
