Thursday, Mar 13 2008 - Day 2 in San Diego
View CWCEBMEY's food & exercise for this day
So far, today has been a better day than yesterday. Yesterday, I spent the majority of my time doing my mom's taxes. And toward the end (the last 3 hours), she was by my side trying to understand everything and questioning everything. The taxes still aren't done, but by tomorrow they will be.
Today, we went shopping and out to lunch. I bought a new work bag and some new sandals. I also bought a new jacket. Then my mom and I went to California Pizza Kitchen. We both had the BBQ Chicken salad. It can be hard to go into those kinds of places and just order the salad. I really wanted a pizza.
But the good thing about this trip is that I have come down to San Diego at my lowest weight in quite some time. Being here, with my mom's encouragement (and watchful eye) and can go below my current weight. Usually, I go to San Diego and lose about 5 pounds or less, depending on how long I stay. It is easier to eat right and exercise. Walking when the weather is so nice makes it so much easier. I do not mind going to the gym, but there is some inconvience to the whole process. When I go to the gym, I've got to get my water bottle, get into my clothes, drive to the gym, find a parking place, weight for a treadmill, bike or the elliptical trainer. After 30 minutes, I get back into the car and drive home.
But in San Diego, I wake up in the morning. Have breakfast. Get into my work out clothes and walk out the door. I enjoy the flowers, grass, and all the activity in the neighborhood. People are walking their dogs or taking their kids to school. Some homes are being remodeled or re-landscaped. It is fun to see the changes. Each day, I take a different route and see different things. Then, I get home and take a shower and start the day with whatever needs to be done.
I haven't gone to the beach yet. The beach is my favorite place. But one of my days here will include a walk on the beach. . . . exercising at my favorite place. What could make exercise more enjoyable????
Well, my mom's investment club is tonight and she is hosting. I need to get my investment club's stocks in order to share with her group.
