Friday, Mar 14 2008 - The Hike
View CWCEBMEY's food & exercise for this day
I went for a hike this morning. I planned on my usual walk around the neighborhood with my mother. But as we go down to the bottom of the hill, there was a gate blocking a dirt path. Beyond the gate there was a place to grab a doggie doodoo bag for your walk. I said hey, let's see where this goes.
So off we went. 5 miles later and almost 2 hours later, we arrived home. We crossed the creek several times. We saw 3 different trains. We saw lots of wild flowers, birds, and bugs. We walked up and down some narrow trails.
As we got into the hike, we didn't want to go back, we just wanted to go forward. But soon, we had no idea where the path was leading us or where we were. Fortunately, two other women, walking a dog came a long and told us what path to take so that we would end up at Henry's. Otherwise, we would have ended up at University City High School and it probably would have been an 8 mile hike.
It was a fun hike and I enjoyed it.

I love those kinds of rambling walks when you get to see flowers and trees and birds and you hardly notice how far you've walked. No flowers here in my neck of the woods but I went for my own yesterday.
Hope you plan another one - those walks are good for the soul as well as the body.
