Monday, Nov 3 2008 - The Challenge Begins. . .

View CWCEBMEY's food & exercise for this day

So, I've been 246 before. . . I go up and down in the 40's. But now the challenge really begins. Last week, I did great on my exercising. I went every day except Sunday. I think this coming Sunday, I will go. I really want to lose 7 pounds by Thanksgiving. I've lost 2 pounds since 10/20/08. But now the challenge really begins. I've been at 246 before and I will really need to work hard to lose the next 5 pounds.

I did well this weekend. It is easier for me to do the right thing when I workout in the morning. Saturday, I really did well with making the right food choices and eating to live, instead of living to eat. I had my son's farewell BBQ. My husband and I cooked a lot of food for everyone. We had my homemade onion burgers, BBQ chicken legs, and salmon. I had broccoli salad, caesar salad, and macaroni salad. We had baked beans, a vegetable tray, and a fruit tray.

I ate a lot for lunch, but still remained within my calorie range for the day. By 8:00 that night, I was pooped.

Sunday was more difficult. My husband and I decided not to go to the gym. It was hard for me to feel the energy that I have been feeling when I do workout. I just lacked the motivation to get up and do stuff. My son wanted biscuits and gravy, which I made. For dinner, I made a nice roast with vegetables. I also made split pea soup for tonight. My son has requested tenderloins for Tuesday night. I have no idea where I'm going to put everything. My refridgerator is full with the leftovers. . . chicken, hamburgers, roastbeef, pea soup, spaghetti, broccoli salad, vegetables and fruit. . . all leftover from the weekend. He leaves Wednesday morning and there is only so much my husband and I can eat. Maybe I'll have my daughter and her hubby take some of the leftovers with them tonight.

We are supposed to go out for dinner tonight. Planning will be key to this event. . . . I will ask for the doggy bag to be served with my meal. I'm not sure where my son wants to go, but it will probably be the Outback. Maybe my daughter will want to split a meal. . . that would help.

Exercise is key to losing weight.
Exercise is key to managing my diabetes.
Exercise is key to managing stress in my life.
Exercise is key to my well being.

I will lose 7 pounds by Thanksgiving. . .

Good planning! Maybe you can plan some back up exercise for days you can't get to the gym. Tapes work well for me. Or you could plan a family walk. I love walking and talking if I can convince someone to go with me. I have break points about every 10 #. Usually the first ones go off easier than the later ones. But I fluctuate so much I have to be 5# under my goal before I am really sure I am there. 5# by Thanksgiving will be hard. You won't be able to be very flexible with your eating and as you said, exercise is the key. Rah, Rah EXERCISE!
