I had to take my dog to the vet this morning. Last night, when I came home, she was limping. I checked her paw, thinking a thorn might be in there, but it was clear. She wasn't supporting any weight on it. But it didn't seem to hurt her. She usually jumps up on the bed at night. This morning, when I woke up, she was still on the floor.
So, I went to work out, came home and she was still in the same spot. She didn't come to the door to greet me.
The vet said she has a torn ACL. They will have to have an ortho do the surgery. . . .cost $1,400. My dog is old (12-14 years old), but is a priceless member of our family. I've got her on pain meds and I'm planning on waiting a bit before I make the decision. I told my husband and he has no opinion. He seems comfortable with my making the decision.
I had a good cry on my way into work. I've talked about this with my coworkers who would all spend the $$ on the dog. I'm going to think about this for a few days.

Oh that is such a difficult decision. I wouldn't know how to approach it. Poor her.
