I stepped on the scale this morning to see how I was doing on my 7 pound challenge by Thanksgiving. This morning, on my bathroom scale, I was 240.2 I haven't seen that number is a very long time. In fact, I can't remember when I last saw that number. But since the goal was to weigh 241 by Thanksgiving, should I still keep this goal or should I say I've achieved it. Thanksgiving is a week away and I could gain 2 pounds by then.

It is very easy to stick to this plan as long as I am losing weight. I am very motivated and encouraged to keep on going. That being said, I've still been tempted. I've been tempted to eat foods that I should not. I will rationalize, I can eat this donut, I worked out today. (And I did eat a donut this week). Wednesday, I really wanted a Jr Bacon Cheeseburger from Wendy's. I had enough calories to eat one, but I chose to stay away from Wendy's. This morning, I opted for the breakfast pizza, but I only ate half. The other half is sitting on my desk. I'm still full and it is noon.

So, my behavior hasn't been perfect. But my exercise plan has been good. Not excellent, but good. I've slacked a bit on my core exercises. But cardio wise. . . I've been very good.

But should I say that I reached my goal and it is on to the next goal (lose 5 pounds by Christmas). Or should I wait until Thanksgiving? I'm going to have to think about this one.

Exercise is key to losing weight.
Exercise is key to managing my diabetes.
Exercise is key to managing stress in my life.
Exercise is key to my well being.

Hi Cynthia -- I see that we both live in SLC! Loving this weather, aren't you? Congratulations on meeting your Thanksgiving goal. I'd just keep working forward and - nothing says you can't do better than your target goal, right? Congratulations on losing 30 pounds - that is a wonderful achievement. :rock1:

I'd say you scored on your goal. Congrats, that's a lot of hard work. :)

If your next goal is already by Christmas, I would say this one was met and move on! GOOD JOB! As you can see, you don't have to be perfect to be good enough!
