I am so excited. I am 239.2. I had to step on my scale twice to really believe it. I haven't been this weight in years. In 1998, I remember being in the 220's, so it has been 10 years since I've been under 240. It is hard for me to believe that this is my weight this morning. One week ago, I was having my appendix taken out. I came home on Tuesday and stepped on the scale and was 250. Part of me told myself that it was water weight, but when I was 246 by Thanksgiving, I began to wonder. But on Friday, things began to change. I began to feel like my old self. Walking, getting up and down, didn't seem to be such a struggle. AND, I was peeing a lot!
Now, I feel that I can keep my lose 5 pounds by Christmas goal. Originally, I had planned to be 241 by
Thanksgiving and 236 by Christmas. I think I'm going to keep the 236 goal. My husband drove me to the gym on Thursday and I walked 1 mile in 45 minutes. Yesterday, when we went to the gym, I was able to walk almost 2 miles in 45 minutes. I am getting back to where I used to be on my cardio, but I'm not there yet. I haven't done any of my core exercises or weights since the surgery. I'm just going by what I feel like I can do.
I am staying home from work this week. So this week will be a struggle for activity. I will be decorating my home for Christmas and getting things organized, but that in itself, may not be enough activity for me. So, I'm really going to be careful about the choices I make for eating.

Congrats on your new low weight! I had my gall bladder out 2-1/2 weeks ago, & when I got home from the hospital I was up 8.5 lbs. from my weight the a.m. of the surgery! I think fluid collects in your abdomen, plus for laparascopic surgery they pump gas into you to lift your abdominal wall away from the organs, so that contributes too. Like you, I found that the extra weight was gone within a week, plus some! I was told it was OK to go back to weight training 8 days after my surgery, but they said I should wait a month to do any crunches or other ab-strengthening work, so you might want to wait at least another couple of weeks before restarting your core program.

Way to go! I was pretty sure it was water. The IV's don't have many calories, just water. And when you can't eat, it doesn't eliminate like it should. Happy Holidays!
