So it has finally occurred to me that I have the power. I have the power to accomplish any goal I set. I have the power to lose weight. I have the power to exercise every day. I have the power to eat right. I know that this seems obvious. So often we believe that we are addicted to food. Thinking that way means that I am powerless over food. But the truth is, I have the power to make good choices and bad choices. I am in control of what I eat (both good and bad). I am in control when I decide not to exercise or to exercise.
I've got the power to change. And starting today, I will use my power to change. I did not want to get up and exercise this morning, but I used my power, got out of bed and did it. I did not want to plan my meals for today, but I did it. I packed up my yogurt, tuna fish and apples for work. I have been craving salty snack foods, but I have told myself "no" not on your plan.
I think that the more I empower myself to do the right thing, the stronger I will feel. And the more I empower myself, the closer I will get to losing this weight.
I just have to keep reminding myself that I have the power. I just have to keep asking myself "Is this kind of behavior going to help me achieve my goals?"
My montra used to be (and sort of still is)
Exercise is key to losing weight.
Exercise is key to managing my diabetes.
Exercise is key to managing stress.
Now, my new additional montra will be
I'VE GOT THE POWER!!!!
