Monday, Sep 19 2011 - Monday. . . Again

Another Monday and another day to start over. . . AGAIN. I am finding it very difficult to exercise and it has to do with motivation. About 3 weeks ago, I took the dog for my run-walk (more walking than running). Part of the route is side walk, but the middle of the route is a dirt path. I take the dirt path with the thought of improving my balance. As luck would have it, I took a hard fall and banged myself up pretty good. . . so much for improving my balance! After that, it took a while to heal and now, I'm pretty much good to go full steam ahead. . .but I'm lacking the steam. The weather is great, the sun is up, I'm awake, but I stay in bed, watching the news before I absolutely need to get up and get ready for work. I have been on part of the route (not the dirt path) and I have some what enjoyed the walk. Last week I ran a little bit. But overall, getting myself out of bed has been difficult.

The consequence has been no weight loss and weight gain. My pants are tight. I've gained a lot of my weight back over the past 2 years and all the aches and pains have returned as well.

In writing this blog, I've decided to take a walk when I get home. I really want to lose some weight for the holidays. I would like to get back into the 230's or 220's by Christmas. It is possible, but it will require exercise.

Today's goals

1. Take the dog for a walk - 30 minutes
2. Set the alarm and put it across the room (that way I will have to get out of bed to turn it off).
