Yesterday, I climbed 28 flights of stairs. Amazingly, I'm still here to write this down. My buns this morning are sore. This morning, I woke up with my new resolve to lose half as much weight as my husband. I worked out on the bike for 45 minutes and did my core exercises.

I must stay away from the candy in my office. I must tell myself that each mini tootsie roll is empty calories. I have made a lot of bad choices when it comes to food. But the most disasterous choices are when I'm ...

Getting Healthy with my Hubby

Wednesday, November 12th 2008

I have a competitive edge to me. I wouldn't say I'm super competitive, but on a scale of 1-10, with one being couldn't care less about anyone else and 10 being someone who wants a gold medal in the Olympics, I'm probably about a 5. . . or 6.

Here is my point. My husband and I have been making changes for the past 2 weeks to lose weight. He's lost 14 pounds, I've lost 5 pounds. Working out with my husband has been a very trying thing for me. We have the bodybugg. . . I'm supposed to bur...

That last comment made me laugh. It was about the only good thing in dropping my son off.

Election Day

Tuesday, November 4th 2008

Tomorrow, my son will leave for Indiana for some training before he is deployed to Afghanistan. He was up early this morning and I could hear him bring up his gear and putting it into the Rodeo. He left at 0600.

I stayed in bed for about 15 minutes after that, just thinking. Then, I dragged myself out of bed to go to the gym. I asked my husband if he wanted to go with me, but he said no. He likes to workout during his lunch hour. It can be so easy for a man. Go workout, sweat, show...
