So far, today has been a better day than yesterday. Yesterday, I spent the majority of my time doing my mom's taxes. And toward the end (the last 3 hours), she was by my side trying to understand everything and questioning everything. I flew into San Diego last night. I'm here until Monday. I'm doing her taxes. Write now the fountain out front is bubbling and there is some great Mexican music playing. Just a flute and the guitars. I've already been on my walk and had my breakfast. The challenge will be to get my 10,000 steps in each day. You have to sit to do taxes, so I'll need to take some breaks here and there and go to Horton's Plaza or Fashion Place and walk (and since I'll be in the mall, I might as well do some ...Tuesday, March 4th 2008
Today, I woke up grumpy. It isn't often that I wake up in a bad mood for no reason. My sugars were high (146), I feel bloated. My throat is scratchy. My weight is a little bit up. My ankles are slightly swollen. I can see the edema in my hands, I can feel the edema in my hands as I type.

Here's our puppy. His name is Buddy. We just adore him. My son lets him out of the basement about 05:30 and after he does his business outside, he runs upstairs to see us. He snuggles down and sleeps with us for a little bit longer. Then my hubby and I get up and get ready for work.Saturday, March 1st 2008
It's the weekend and it looks like we have a storm coming in. My husband and I are supposed to go out to dinner with some friends. We'll probably have sushi. But with the wind blowing and it is still cold outside, maybe we'll have dinner at home and make something like shepherd's pie or chicken and noodles. Comfort food is the best when the weather is stormy. Comfort food makes you feel warm and cozy and that's just the way you want to feel when you are inside and the storm is outside.
