View DAWNNSCOTT's food & exercise for this day

This morning was going good until I got a call from the doctor"s office. The nurse called to tell me that my chol. was high. Now I have been off Lipitor ( chol. med.) for about 2 1/2 months because it was damaging my liver. Anyway, I tried fish oil pills. Well, it didn't work for me. So here is the conversation with the nurse.
Dawn, your chol. is way too high. Are you watching what you eat? Are you on a diet? You need to be on medicine like, now. I got off the phone with her and cried. Not because I have to take medicine but because of the way she talked to me. She was really being nasty. How rude! I hope she isn't that way with everyone. Needless to say that just put me in a bad way:(

<Eating>

My eating is getting better. I really have been measuring and weighing everything I eat. Today I went to Wawa and ordered a turkey sandwich and told the woman everything to put on it:) It made me happy knowing what was going on the sandwich. Before I just ordered it and what ever was on it, was on it.

<Exercise>

Last night Scott and I tried the Turbo Sculpting on Demand. It was forty minutes long and it was actually good. It works everything:) I like the workouts on Demand. There are several to choose from. So the exercise thing.....it's going good.

I appreciate everyones support. I surely couldn't do this alone:)

Have a super day.

My doctor had me take garlic pills from the health food store. Go to a health food store and have them research what you can take naturally. Or jump on the internet and research it. I would write out a formal complaint against the party who was rude to you and put it in her file.

But one thing to remember. Our doctors and nurses do see a lot of patients who don't take precautions or steps to take control of your health. It does not give her the right to lump you into that equation. Print out your food diarys. tell them about this site and what you are doing for yourself, explain your health concerns with you liver and hopefully she will work with you on this and not just be rude.

WTG on the exercise!! I will have to look into that tape. I am bored with mine

If you like your doctor, mention to him/her how the nurse spoke to you. I have no problems telling the dr when the staff is being rude. They usually have no idea, since they are rarely up front. :love:

Dawn -- if you are still interested in researching natural methods you might try asking for help in one of the forums. I remember a thread about cholesterol several months ago and I know of at least one member (HOCKEYFAN, i think?) who was able to help her husband lower his using natural means, red yeast rice is specifically what I remember being mentioned. My mom struggles with her cholesterol, she inherited it but she also doesnt eat healthy and it doesnt help AT ALL that my dad eats very unhealthy but still has low cholesterol :P.
