View DAWNNSCOTT's food & exercise for this day
Good Morning Everyone
Today is a beautiful sunny day here in NJ. It is suppose to get very hot and humid though. After lunch we are headed to my friends house for a swim. The kids love it. She has a huge in ground pool. It's very nice to go and swim and chill out.
Soccer camp~~~
The kids have been doing a terrific job. They go from 5pm-8pm this week. They work their butts off. They split the kids into the different age groups and there's a coach for each group. Each night they start off w/ exercises and stretching and then off to the drills. Last night Aaron (5yrs.) was named Camper Of The Day. He got an autographed photo of Shawn Boney. He is a defender for the Philadelphia Kixx. Oh, I forgot to mention the camp is run by the Kixx team. Anyway, Aaron was thrilled. He wants to put it on his wall in his room.
I looked up on CK under exercise for soccer just for curiosity sake and it was over 2500 calories for 2 1/2 hours(half hour total for water breaks). AHHH! I should do this camp! LOL! Kayla was very happy about that. We haven't officially signed her up yet for CK but we are helping her stay on track. So to see those numbers, that made her pretty happy.
Shaq~~
Last night we watched Shaq's Big Challenge and it was terrific! We were so amazed w/ the results. I truly hope they will be able to change the lunches nationwide. The lunches the kids receive are awful. Just junk!! I told my children I will be packing their lunches this year. It is so important for them to eat right. I was floored when the lunch room director of that Fla. school said they only have a budget of $1.00 per child. WHAT!! Are you kidding me. Over 50% of our taxes go to the school and they can only budget a buck per kid. Hello people. Obviously the kids are not as important as they claim they are. I am always hearing, the childrens health and welfare are our first priority. I think they just tell us what we want to hear and that's it. On Shaq's website there is a petition for the children to sign to get better lunches. We really need to print them out and start getting those children to sign.
My family and I went to a healthy Eating seminar last Thursday. It was great. They took the kids in one room and adults in another. They showed the kids how to check food labels. They gave them a chart to show what foods were good for you and which ones were not. So yesterday we went to the store and the kids were helping pick the fruit and checking labels to see if it was ok for certain snacks. It was really cool
Gym~
I may be just hitting up the gym alone today. Kayla has been working so hard at soccer and burning mad calories I think she'll just want to chill and rest. Rightly so.
Well I hope you all have a great day.

My nephew just spent 2 months at a baseball camp where they gave the kids nutrition lessons--& then turned right around & violated all their own teaching in the cafeteria. They were serving the same junk they were telling the kids to avoid! Glad to hear your kids are already catching on!

That sounds like a great course for the family. Kids have to help make the healthy choices. My sister is a pediatrician and nutritionist with a work-out program and eating plan for kids. She is the spokesperson for Apple and Eve Juices to promote healthy family activities. If you go to their website she is featured there. Of course, I never listened to her until now. You know that sibling thing.
:) I hope the humidty doesn't last much longer. My hair is a mess!!! Take care and have a great day...

Shaq is my new hero!
:heart1: Sounds like you are more than doing your part of being an involved and caring parent. I wish all parents were that involved in their kids food and lifestyle!! We would be a much healthier country!
