One of the kids killed at Virginia Tech, Leslie Sherman, graduated from my high school two years after i did. The shooter as well as two other students killed graduated from a neighboring high school. An friend from high school lost her sorority sister. Another murdered student graduated from my best friend's high school.

I know I may not have known the deceased personally, but I know people who did. It's so sad to think that a person can have so much disrespect for life. I'm still in shock that this has happened. I walked around campus today just grateful to feel safe and really just feeling so much empathy and concern for my friends at VT who have to worry about one day re-entering a building where 30 of their friends & professors were brutally murdered for no reason.

I look at all the kids walking around on my campus like everything is OK when, 8 hours away, there are 20,000+ people grieving the loss of their fellow classmates. I want to go home so bad just so I can be around my friends and classmates. Everyone from Northern Virginia knows someone goes to or has gone to VT. It's so sad to see my friends grieving over lost classmates, lost sisters, lost friends. I can only imagine what they're going through. To think that these young peoples' lives were cut so short because of a stupid random act of violence is unfathomable. I am truly just at a loss for words. I have a heavy, heavy, heart today. I haven't heard the names of the 10 other victims who's name have yet to be released, but please pray for those at Virginia Tech and their friends and family.
