It's been a rough few weeks. The state surveyors showed up at work last Wednesday and were there all day Wednesday and Thursday, then returned on Monday and Tuesday of this week. If it weren't for the fact that no one likes state surveyors I'd be tempted to sign up to be one, I'm thinkin' it must be pretty nice to have three day weekends every week and drive your very own state issued car. There were three surveyors that came and they each drove their own car - all the same model, just different colors. Ya know I used to wonder where our state funding goes....now I know! Anyway, survey is always a highly stressful time and this year was no different. There's just nothing like having these people digging into charts and observing care being provided and knowing that they're watching every move and reading every line of charting just searching for something that either wasn't done correctly or just wasn't done period. Well, we ended up with 8 deficiencies, which isn't too bad considering some of the facilities around the area have had 15 to 19!
