Did my first attempt at true winter biking today. We got about 6 inches of snow here yesterday and we were still getting flurries as of 11:00 this morining (It appears to have subsided now).

Needless to say it was an interesting trip in! I basically had to resort to walking my bike through my as yet unplowed alley and side street to get to Clark St. After that, it basically was like riding after a hard rain. I feel if I can make it through this, I can make it through anything!

315 at the check in! No weight gain over the holidays! Given that I kind of blew off the system for about a week and really misbehaved for another week, I am pretty happy with that. Lets see it go down next week!

Happy New Year everyone!

Had a great if uneventful new years eve. We went out and had tapas - a spanish style food where you get small portions and try several things. We had some calamari, a seafood plate in garlic sauce, and a great omelet - well they called it that but it seemed to have more potatoes than eggs.

Bought a scale today - looks like I gained 4 lbs since I last weighed myself 4 weeks ago the check-in tomorrow might not be so great but but if I only gained 4lbs over chris...

Had an unexpected treat today. I had to go into work an hour early (Yuck!) and normally I would use that as an excuse not to bike in so I could veg on the El (The chicago name for the subway/rapid transit train) or bus. However, last night I decided that I was going to bite the bullet and bike in. What I got in trade was a ride in with a view of the sun rising over the lake and the clouds spreading a gorgeous red hue over the whole skyline of the city. This has been a week of great rides so far...

Hi,

I have been on this for a couple of weeks and have learned quite a bit about what I am eating and where my calories are really going. It truly is amazing how much you really can eat if you stay away from crap.

My initial goal (meaning the first couple weeks) is being more aware of what I eat and the calorie costs involved. I really like this website because it 's the first that I have seen that really has an exhaustive food database. We have alot of choices here in chicago. A lot...
