Thursday, Feb 18 2010 - Substitute Meats for Sweets???
View JOY300's food & exercise for this day
Since I have made the commitment to go meatless everyday till I feel I can't anymore I have been over on my fat and crave sweets to the death. I wanted to seek out more options and see how far my will power can take me. So I am on day 13 of Meatless meals. I started off gradually with 1 day, then the following was 2 days, then 3 then 4 then I said the heck with all of it and did a full week and just havent stopped yet. The only thing that I hate is craving more sweets then I ever had in the past. I have tried to take all of the sweets out but then I feel the urge to suddenly pull into the grocery store and buy something for dinner and end up in the ice cream aisle. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME???!!! I need to really focus and get it together. This has occurred within the last 4 days. It maybe because I am coming upon my TOM but geeze come on now. My fat intake is way into the yellow, ugh so much frustration. I hear that a lot of vegetarians have a liking for sweets. Is it because I feel the need to substitute my meats for sweets? I don't get it?
Yesterday I came home from a meeting at work. They talked to us about budgetary needs for education and different scenarios that may or may not happen next school year. I was in panic mode and needed a quick fix. So I went into the grocery store and bought some skinny cows because I wanted something sweet, well I came home and ate the WHOLE container. What??? Why??? After all of my hard work and I am throwing it away? Ugh so frustrating. I weighed myself this morning realizing the effects that has come into play the last 4 to 5 days and what did I see a 1.6 gain form last Friday. I was just 1 measly pound away form my intermediate goal weight and I did this. There are too many questions to ask myself and I dont have the answers for them. It has taken me 4 months to get close my intermediate goal weight and I went backwards? All I can say is back to the drawing board and get my patootie in gear. So help me G_D I will get this!!!

I do take soy protein and a lot of vegetables have alot of fiber, iron and protein, But I also incorporate nuts and I do take a fish oil and multivitamin. I am also anemic so I do take a iron supplement as well. I t was rough the first 4 to 5 days but now I find it easier, my cravings for sweets have subsided since I posted, so I think it was TOM. lol Thanks for the comment.

Congrats on challenging yourself and taking on the meatless challenge. Do you think the craving is your body telling you are missing something? Maybe it's the iron you used to get from meat? Also, where are you getting your protein from? Just some thoughts. I hope the craving pass....you are much stronger than you think! Mind over matter (or in this case meat....hehehehe)
