View KERILARNED's food & exercise for this day

I finally made it to the farmers market to get some veggies. Seems like I always have plenty of fruit around the house and never enough vegetables. Inspired by Sheetal, the minute I got home from the market, I chopped up all the veggies that needed cutting so they are ready to eat and I'd be more likely to grab them and eat em.

It has been so hectic two weeks. I have been watching my girl friend's two year olds one or two days a week for a couple months now. I'm waiting for my license to clear, but in the meantime, my neighbor was put into a bind and long story short, I am now watching her two year old who has never been left with anyone other than grandma who lives with them. ITS STRESSFUL when a child is screaming for most of the day and no amount of distraction eliminates or decreases his anxiety. He's getting better as every day goes by, but I think the stress is effecting my weight loss...or lack thereof. What I need is more time at the gym to burn off some of the stress. My husband will be home for the summer starting on Monday and I am looking forward to being able to work out as needed, whenever I need to.

My major stumbling block has been my cookie business. I decorate cookies (and cakes and cupcakes.....but the cookies have been a big hit lately,) so I've constantly had the sugar cookies around the house. Could this be why I just couldn't drop lbs? Probably. So I gave any extras away this weekend, put all the supplies away and hit the farmers market.

I also visited mypyramid.gov. The reason being is I really have no idea what a "balanced" diet for my specific calorie range is. It gives you specifically how many cups or oz of each food group you should have daily and weekly. This has been helpful. When I went to the farmers market, I knew how much I should get of each kind of veggie and in planning the menu for the week, I knew I had to incorporate veggies into breakfast.......My kids were so excited for their eggs when they saw broccoli in them.

Here's to a well balanced diet!

Its the end of the day and I did awesome. Not only did i resist the remaining dessert from our dinner the other night, but I ate celery and carrot sticks instead of the chocolate eclair goodness staring me right in the face. I need to change what I'm eating if I want different results. But you know what, I'm totally satisfied. I'm full, I feel good about what I ate and I know i can do it again tomorrow. All those veggies really fill you up. I had planned on having another salad for dinner, but I as so full after the chicken (trying to get in all my protein for the day), I couldn't imagine eating veggies on top of that. I feel like I did great today though...so good for me.
