One of the many terrible habits I have is scarfing down my food. I never really taste it. I'm not sure if it started when I was working long days and was lucky to get a lunch, but its a terrible habit. There are several techniques you can use to help yourself slow down:
1. Putting your fork down between every bite.
2. chewing at least 20 times before taking another bite.
3. Eat blind folded.

Spring Cleaning

I've been doing a lot of organizing and tossing lately. Its been my way of keeping my hands busy and out of the kitchen. I feel like the clutter, even in the closets are slipping away and it feels good. I've even done some spring cleaning in the pantry. Getting rid of those not so great snacks. The ones with high fructose corn syrup which only seem to make me want to eat more. So much for a light lunch

This week was a great week for me. I hit the gym 4 days this week, which is probably an all time record. I've found the class for me. My gym has Zumba. If you've never gone to a class, its an amazing calorie burning class. I love it. In college I danced all the time, ballroom, salsa...you name it, I danced. Give up the diet drinks

Several years ago, I started drinking diet soda. I love the fizz in soda and when I needed to lose weight after college, I switched to diet because there were no calories. After having the twinlets, I have found it extremely difficult to lose weight. After one whole year, I had only lost 10 lbs. Frustrated, I have attempted several times to give up the soda. We met some friends for dinner tonight. It's never a good thing when you are looking at the nutritional information (now required for all chain restaurants in CA) and the waiter tells you "don't look at that, you'll only be disappointed".
