So, I'm the first to admit that I am probably the most impatient person there is, but I was completely unprepared for the response I got this week when I called my insurance company to find out the status of the approval for my gastric bypass procedure. The nice CSR at the insurance company said, "No. We haven't received anything for you." Funny, since my appointment with the surgeon was two weeks ago and the patient coordinator said she had everything and would send it right in. Long story short. When I called to ask the patient coordinator about this I was surprised to find out that she was no longer with them. Now she was a sweetheart and I hope she's okay and I can't imagine the program without her but DAMN! she didn't send my paperwork in two weeks ago!!! The girl filling in was a little confused, but she got everything shipped right off and now the insurance company has everything and it's in medical review - that sounds promising. So, they tell me I have seven to fourteen days to wait to get an answer. Gee, if all of this was turned in when I thought it was, I would have my approval and a surgery date by now. Oh well. Waiting . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
