View KRIS319's food & exercise for this day

Today has been such a struggle.

I had the best weekend in a really long time . . . I got good news about my insurance for my surgery - I'm approved. I had a really nice two days off with my husband. I exercised on Saturday - something new - Pilates. I easily hit my calorie targets . . . wasn't even hungry. And for the first time in nearly a year I had a blood sugar reading below 100! All of my sugar readings were in the normal range yesterday.

Fast forward to today . . . I'm really tired and achy this morning. It's a struggle to get out the door. Work is pretty boring, interspersed with periods of totally annoying. I call my surgeon and get no call back. Now it's time to go work out and I am tired, hungry and not in the mood. The whole five minute drive from my office to Curves is an internal argument between me and myself - - could I skip my workout today? I'm really tired. No. You have to work out to keep the pounds coming off. Why would you want to ruin all the hard work you've been doing? You've got to keep at it. But I don't want to!

So once I got to Curves I got right into my workout and loved it. I always feel good anad good about myself when I finish exercising. A new battle starts in my head . . . what should I have for dinner. I'm so tired and hungry and it's getting late and I forgot to thaw anything for dinner. Oh and I am STARVING so I could eat mass quantities of basically anything. What?!?!?! McDonald's has 50 chicken McNuggets for $9.99?!?!?!? Maybe I could just pick one of those up for dinner. But wow, wouldn't a pizza be yummy. No. Just get a Subway roast chicken sandwich. You know that it will fill you up and you know the exact nutritional value. Okay. Subway is easy. No cooking. No dishes. Hmmm, Subway. What if I had a Spicy Italian sub? Maybe just a 6" sub? What if I have a 6" chicken and a 6" spicy italian? Okay, maybe a 6" sub, but with chips. This conversation in my head lasted for the entire 30 minutes it took to get from the Curves to the Subway by my house.

Well, I ended up getting what I know . . . the roast chicken sandwich, no cheese. And besides a spoonful of dark chocolate peanut butter later this evening for my sweet tooth that's all I had. Dang was today tough! I'm currently filling up with an icy cold giant glass of water. Gotta flush out that fat don't you know.

Gee, I really hope tomorrow is a little easier.

Thanks for the support. I have to say that this weekend I was not as good at selecting the best choice . . . but it's another day and I can make better choices today. FYI, the dark chocolate PB I mentioned is Peanut Buter & Co. Dark Chocolate Dreams. I get mine at Wal-mart. It's all-natural and same nutritional value (for the most part) as any other PB. I have a tablespoon on a LaTortilla Company low carb whole wheat tortilla for a quick and filling 130 calorie snack.

WTG on the "best" choice! I must know all about this "dark chocolate peanut butter!" Tell me more! (Or, maybe not, because I think I'd eat the whole jar, not only a spoonful!)

That was me yesterday. Only I gave in and got pizza. Today I woke up feeling heavy and bloated and asking myself what is going on with my bowels? Well, duh, you ate half a dang pizza last night...and I never eat pizza anymore. Meh.

I thought you were in my head there for a minute. I swear I've had the exact same dialog running in my head for the past year! Keep making the good choice and you will be rewarded greatly!

Gee it sounds like you did everything right that day. Thank goodness for Subway, because I swore off all fast food drive thru's 6 months ago when I joined CK! When I don't or can't cook and need food Subway is where I go for their turkey on wheat sub with loads of veggies.

Our greatest foe is ourselves. Every win in that battle is a step in the right direction. I don't know if it gets any easier, it seems not but the reward of winning those inner conversations is great.

You'll get there! Just keep your eye focused on the goal and you'll make it. 31 lbs less is proof that you will do this!!!

I have those conversations with myself all the time. Always trying to give myself permission to eat crap and not exercise. Hopefully it will start getting easier soon.
