Triathlon...here I come! I havent been swimming for exercise in many years. On father's day, the hubby and I took our daughter to the pool. He actually was happy to play with her while I did laps!

I searched for weeks trying to find my old fins and goggles...Although I had to purchase new goggles, I did find my fins. I swam for 30 minutes with 5 second breaks between laps. My crawl stroke was surprisingly strong. So was my side stroke. I had a little knee and hip twinge with my breastroke,...

He just doesn't get it

Life has been ultra stressful lately. We're builiding a house...or rather, if my hubby would stop micromanaging the process we'd be building a house. We need to dig the foundation before it rains again. Who care if the ceiling in the basement is flat or if we have to have ductwork drop down six inches near the back of the room. So picky he is. If I were that picky on my diet and exercise I'd be a petite model and olympic athlete by now! *smirk* What's hard is that my dad is our general contracto...

Exercise makes you crave pop less

So I worked out at noon today instead of wandering around looking for money for the soda pop machine or sitting on my butt eating snacks. I jogged 11 minutes at 4.5 mph and walked at 3.5 mph. Sweat like a banshee. Felt good. Need to try body glide to prevent the thighs from rubbing and chafing.

TRIATHLETE - SLOW AND FAT

AM post - Over the weekend I became an athlete! I participated in my first team triathlon. It was fun. It gave me butterflies in my stomach, but I did it!!!! I wasn't the last runner in. My knee caps didn't fall off, and I haven't had the desire to eat crap since I finished. I never was a runner, but, I think I could learn to like it.

Have you read the Slow Fat Triathlete book. First of all, its very good. Secondly, its lighthearted and funny, and third, its motivating for big athena girls...
