Monday, Jul 9 2012 - Ouch! That was pretty stupid!

So I've been on vacation for a week and I'm back to work today. It was a stay-cay and it was fun until Saturday. Hubs and I worked hard on the house doing all that deep cleaning most folks do in the spring. At least I guess most folks do it in the spring - that is why they call it spring cleaning right? Anyway we rearranged furniture, cleaned cielings, walls, floors, carpets, reorganized drawers and relined both kitchen and linen cupboards. All the plastic reusable containers that were littering the countertop now have a home. I didn't know walls had to be dusted until I moved into my current residence, but they do, so they were all dusted top to bottom. Picture frames had to be taken down and cleaned because they get a sticky residue that builds up on them. I don't know why, but it is icky and a bit irritating. Curtains and furniture got vaccummed as well as the floors. Friday we moved all the furniture in the front room and hubs steamed cleaned the carpets. They were still moist at bedtime, so we left the room in disarray when we went to bed. Being the person I am I decided to put the furniture in place Saturday morning. Everything was fine until I moved the heavy chair - one of those rocking types with a spoke-type pedestal instead of feet. Just as I was pushing it into place my back sent an urgent pain signal to my brain to tell me to STOP RIGHT NOW! By that time I had already done the damage and I'm still in pain today. :bang: Hubs was a bit angry that I didn't wait for him to get out of the shower to help. My son said he has no sympathy because I know better. I swear that could have been me saying those words! LOL So I didn't walk yesterday or Saturday. I didn't do much of anything actually. Today I get up every hour or so and walk down the hall to keep things lubricated and we're going for a walk after work - it might end up being more of a stroll. There are times when aging truely sucks. Now is one of those times. When I was younger I could move furniture without doing damage to myself and if I did get hurt it healed in a day or two. Not anymore. :cry4:
