I went to the doctor for a checkup yesterday and...there was good news and not so good news.
The not so good news - I have bursitis in my hips and have to stop walking and climbing up or down stairs for a while. I have some new exercises from PT to do to help my hips. My doctor said I need to find a different kind of cardio exercise - bycicling, swimming, elliptic. Sigh! I don't have equipment, I don't have a pool and I don't have a gym membership! I really dislike going to a gym. So I think I'll check the PennySaver and Craigs list to see if I can find a stationary bike.
The good news (drumroll please)
My weight is down from 238 to 215.
My Blood sugar is down from 102 to 93. (normal is less than 99)
My cholesterol is down from 245 to 219. (normal is less than 200)
My LDL is down from 155 to 119 (normal is less than 100)
My HDL is up from 71 to 74 (normal is more than 40)
My pulse is down from 83 to 72 (which means my heart isn't working as hard)
My blood pressure is down from 138/88 to 114/72 - this is the sweetest news of all since I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to get it under control since 2005. For years I've hovered in the 140/90 range.
My doctor said he will consider removing my BP meds after I lose another 10 pounds.
So, yay me! \o/ Whoo-hoo!
My DH and I are both ecstatic and he's already saying I'll be at 212 by next week, then 210 the following week, etc. I had to pull back the reigns and remind him again of the slow and steady course.

He called me a turtle and I called him a jackrabbit and we both had a laugh. I love his enthusiasm and support! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband.
Anyway, I am quite happy and look forward to the next few weeks. Onderland here I come!
