View LOVE2RUN's food & exercise for this day
Today was tough. I had an all day training class at work, and a lunch date with coworkers to go with it. Of course, they won't go anywhere with healthy options. The result? Mexican. I LOVE Mexican food. Sigh.
I did choose lightly, as lightly as you can at a restaurant that smothers everything in sauce and cheese. A chicken and a beef taco. Very tasty, but not that filling. So, naturally, I was starving when I got home. I did choose well at home though, healthy request soup and a tuna sandwich. I then gave the sopapilla dessert covered with honey butter to my husband, allowing a quarter portion for me to try, so I didnt feel deprived. It was good, but not so good I had to have it all, but Im glad he was there to eat it for me; otherwise, I would have ate the whole thing just for kicks. I guess its not so bad to have a husband with a metabolism that allows him to eat whatever he wants, but still, I would rather it was I with the fabulous metabolism!
Now, how can I prevent disaster from happening next time? Plan ahead? Bring my own lunch? Insist on going somewhere diet friendly? I dont think I could. Bringing my own would only make me feel left out. Insisting on going healthy, when Im the only one requesting healthy, would make me very unpopular. They already hate my healthy treat/potluck items I insist on bringing. No, upon reflecting back upon the day that I thought was a disaster, I think I handled it quite well. Not every day will turn out perfect, sometimes we have to make the best out of what were given.
