Up and down, up and down. Just like a freaking yo-yo.

I was excited all week long to weigh in on Sunday. I had green check marks for every single day of the week, for the first time! I didn’t eat any unhealthy snacks. My meals were planned and well balanced. I did all my planned exercise and I went to the gym on lunch every scheduled day. I was perfect. All week. Perfect.

I gained 1.2 lbs.

My motivation fell like an asteroid hurling through space; but then I remembered that Oprah’s complaint about her weight loss journey was that every 4 weeks, no matter what, she would gain weight. I reviewed my weight loss history, and sure enough, 4 weeks ago I had a big gain. 2.8 lbs to be exact. So this month the gain was 1.2 lbs. Not as much as last month, that’s progress isn’t it?

That perked me up…a little. I was able to resist the urge to eat the whole house “because it doesn’t really matter anyways”, and turned to my Blog to work out my frustration. Up and down, up and down. As long as I can change it to down, down, down, up, down - then that’s progress.

I know it has been a while since you blogged, but wanted you to know...I agree completely and don't let a 1-3 lb gain totally derail my progress anymore...this is about lifestyle and continuing to be healthy for the rest of our lives. Sounds like you are getting a GREAT balance...oh and welcome to CK! Vicki
