Thursday, Mar 19 2009 - Never give up, again
View LOVE2RUN's food & exercise for this day
Well, today is another day this week that I'm not going to get my little green check. Funny how that little green check now means as much to me as that number on the scale. It's a sign of my daily progress. A sign of my resolve for success; or in the case of this week, a sign of weakness.
I'm not going to let the negative voice in my head take over. I'm not going to verbally punish me with demands for improvement. I'll sit down and write out the day the way it should have been played, and then I'll move on.
I've come a long, long way down the weight loss trail. I've made plenty of mistakes. BIG ONES. There is one thing that I continually do right, I never give up.
*************************************
Where I went wrong:
1-Called in sick instead of going to work.
Yes, I couldn't sleep; but I should have used that as an advantage instead of a disadvantage. I should have got up and did my run and then some housework, instead of popping an anxiety pill so I could saver another 2 hours in bed.
2-had a snack meal for breakfast.
A snack breakfast is okay if I'm on the run. It's healthy and fulfills a quick, gotta go breakfast need; however, I had stayed home. I should have had a filling veggie omelet or another sit down and savor whilst I eat breakfast meal.
3-Made the wrong choices for lunch while at Olive Garden
I should have had ministroni soup for an appetizer instead of the salad. Olive Garden's salads have croutons, olives and shredded cheese which add unnecessary, unwanted calories. Then the salad dressing itself is loaded. RIGHT CHOICE: I did order the L/F salad dressing served on the side, so I controlled the amount consumed. RIGHT CHOICE: I only ate half of the meal, then took the other half home.
4-I ate a bread stick with marinara sauce. Indulging in a bread stick would not have been a problem if I would have stuck with eating only soup. When eating a complete meal, I should avoid the unnecessary bread stick.
5-eating chips ahoy cookies when I came home from lunch. The bread stick combined with the pasta was too many white carbs. I know that if i indulge in excess white carbs; my cravings sky rocket. I had to have the cookies to quite the beast
6-pretzels. The beast would not shut up. Between the cookies and the pretzels and the homemade cookie; those white carbs cost me a total of 600 excess, empty calories that I do not need.
7-the homemade cookie. I didn't even like it. I ate it because some kind, sweet lady gave a plate full to my husband for doing her yard work. I didn't need or want it and she wouldn't have even known if I did or didn't eat it. However, by this time the white carbs, combined with the bing eating weakened my resolve. SOLUTION: I should have went for my run to shut up the beast; instead of lounging on the internet.
There. Done. Moving on.
