Thursday, May 28 2009 - If you want it bad enough...
View LOVE2RUN's food & exercise for this day
Losing 80+ lbs makes people notice. Keeping it off for over a year makes them stop and ask "How?". My answer, "You gotta want it bad enough".
Everyone wants it, but the real question is "How bad do you want it?"
I want that last 10 lbs. I want it real bad. It's time to get back to basics. Escaping from a difficult childhood and now enjoying the luxury of being a spoiled wife, I have a very hard time with self-discipline and it seems whenever I master it, there is my ever loving husband ready to disrupt my efforts. He loves me; but he doesn't get it. He brings me my favorite treat, be it cookies, candy or ice cream every single time he goes to the store. Why not bring me flowers, balloons, a card, a trinket?
He holds me tight in the wee morning hours and tempts me with seduction so I won't leave him for the gym or a jog. When we are shopping he will circle around and around and around to get the very closest parking spot, so I don't have to walk. I'm not allowed to bring in the groceries, shovel the snow or work in the yard (although I think the yard thing is just because one time I gave the lawn a pretty bad hair cut with the edger and who knew that weed and feed shouldn't be put on the petunias?) When we drive to one of my favorite jogging trails, he'll fight to get as close as he can get, so we don't have as far to walk. Good Heavens! What the heck are we doing here then?
Anyways, I'm not here to 'diss on my husband. This isn't about him,
it's about me.
He doesn't get it ~ but I do.

He's loving you to "death" and hasn't seen it that way yet
:inlove1: , but maybe he can hear you when you say, "would you mind replacing the food, with something I can keep on my desk? Such as: a card, flower, or a cute trinket? Better yet, a diamond tennis bracelet?

You're right. Many don't how to support, and I guess our job is to get that. It's up to us to be our own cheerleader, confidante, coach and life mentor. Love comes in many forms, not always of the helpful variety. On a different note - your commitment to weight loss is impressive. Give me some of that stuff! Cheryl52

I betcha he did most of these things 80 lbs ago, right? The problem here is that HE hasn't changed, and YOU have. He's trying to hold on (literally) to that piece of you. I agree, relish being spoiled, but don't be afraid to ask for what you want to be spoiled with!!

Bask in the spoiling . . . . life is too short!! You will get that last 10 pounds off because you are YOU. Focused!
