View LOVE2RUN's food & exercise for this day
I just spent 2 hours in a dentist office watching the blood puddle on the floor as the Dentist gleefully laughed with delight and yanked the wisdom from my baby's teeth with mid-evil tools of torture. Her screams of pain and fear rebounding off the walls of the dungeon as the hideous and cruel dental assistants held me back and prevented me from rescuing my dearest, darling daughter. My heart is now ripped and shredded by the thought that I, yes I, her mother, sworn to protect her from all harm and evil since the moment of her conception, I had delivered her into the madman's den.
Okay, so once again my flair for the dramatic is all too apparent in my writing. It did suck though, delivering her to such a painful ordeal, for her own good.
Being a parent is the most rewarding and fulfilling part of my existence. The mental and physical health and well being of my child, bringing happiness and joy into my child's life, is the sole mission of my existence. However, sometimes you have to be a parent and do what's right for your child, even if it hurts. That's what makes a parent, a parent. And right now, that sucks.

Gosh, I hear ya. Went through the same things with my oldest. He pumped blood out of his open wound into a drip bowl they gave him as we drove home, bleary eyed and swooning with the post effects of prescribed drugs. I remember those mother feelings rising to the surface - the need to protect, nurture, absorb all of his pain, and yet I was helpless and couldn't. It was his oral surgery, not mine! Thank goodness this will be just another chapter for us to reflect upon. Sounds like you did get through it, though. Best! Cheryl52

Susan, better when young than old. The procedure gets riskier and more traumatic. You did right!
