Perfectly gorgeous weather for Jazz Fest and a full moon to boot.

I am so looking forward to seeing three gentlemen who so elegantly demonstrate the art of aging well. Toots Thielemans and Dave Brubeck are in their 80's and Mose Allison will be 80 this year.

It was good to get back out to the park yesterday. It's amazing how just two days off changed my focus.

A Week Off

I guess I will count this as a week off. No weight loss this week after several days of limited physical activity and some restaurant meals, including a wonderful lunch at Gavi's (http://www.gavisrestaurantandcatering.com/CMS/).

But now I have some idea of how altering my routine can effect my weight so that's worth something.

I'm looking forward to the park this morning. The weather has cooled but without any rain, unfortunately.



On the Road

Tomorrow I will go over to the park early, come home and shower, and then head to Ohio so I'm not expecting to make another blog entry until Friday. Having been so committed to this routine for the past six weeks, it feels unsettling to break it.

A Tricky Week

How to plan a week that leads up to beignets and includes Chipotle Mexican Grill, that's my challenge.

Next weekend is the Syracuse Jazz Fest and for the past several years one of the vendors has served remarkably good beignets, one of my absolute favorite treats. Saturday we're going over for Toots Theilemans, Mose Allison and, be still my heart, another chance to see the incomparable Dave Brubeck.

Mia Bicicletta

I didn't get to the park yesterday when the repairman called to say he'd be here before I could get back in time. (He didn't find anything wrong and couldn't explain why the freezer is running so much; he took his money and left.)

So in the afternoon, with my weight back in what I can call 'familiar territory', I made the first trip of the year on my town bike. It felt great to be back on a bicycle.
