Despite the clap of thunder that nearly knocked me out of bed this morning I stayed put when I realized I wasn't going to the park. It's not raining at the moment but there's a lot more on the way and I have plenty to do around here.

July 17 we ate two splendid cherry tomatoes from the garden, the first of the season and the earliest I've ever grown, primarily because this is the first year I've tried cherry tomatoes. One was a Sweetie, a small, red grape-like tomato that was, in fact, very sweet. The other was a nice size, golden yellow called Mirabelle, more acid than the red but very nice balanced flavor. Now that I know what they taste like I'm impatient to have more.

Creeping up on 20lbs., I'm feeling confident enough to go through some things in the closet, getting some high octane motivation from the slacks I will be able to wear in another few weeks and finding a pair of well-tailored khaki twills that I don't even remember buying but that I can wear comfortably right now. Sweet.

Trying to get back on schedule, I did my Sunday-go-to-meetin' hike this morning. It was more humid than I expected but even more significant was the fact that I did it following a day of low calorie consumption and I just didn't have a lot of energy on the uphill stretches.

I just printed out the daily averages for the week from my public diary. (I still wish they'd included that feature in my "Nutrition and Exercise Manager Program".) My food calories have crept up the past two weeks, 1200, 1225 and this week, 1250 as have my net calories, 856, 871, 891. I guess I'll find out shortly if the warning I get from CK about low calorie intake inhibiting weight loss applies.
