Le Tour

Saturday, July 14th 2007

I didn't pick berries yesterday. Himself had to make a short business trip and I didn't want to be off with no backup. Stayed put in the morning and watched a live stream of the the race. So many pretty young men, so little time... Friday's stage 5 winner, Filippo Pozzato. É italiano, o che cosa?

I got over to the farmer's market early so I could get back to watch today's major climb in the first mountain stage.

Weather looks 'iffy' and I should do some work in the garden this af...

A Quandry

Friday, July 13th 2007

Grisamore's website says the red raspberry fields are open for picking and I'm sitting here trying to decide if I will drive down this morning. I'm eager to see what the red raspberries and the sweet and sour cherries look like this year but it is early and it's about an hour's trip (albeit a beautiful drive) so I could wait until next week. Animal Crackers

No More Titles

Tuesday, July 10th 2007

I don't see the point in having a title for each blog entry especially since I have a real mental block about them. If I could access each entry by title that would be great but that doesn't seem to be the case. From now on, just the date.

I got to the park early this morning to avoid, as much as possible, the heat and humidity and found it greatly changed since the rain on Sunday. Every flower and leaf seemed rejuvenated and in the humid air you could almost smell each one. And I don't...

Viva Oscar!

Monday, July 9th 2007

It's too bad you can't claim some of the calories the athletes burn while watching them compete.

Anyway, Le Tour de France has begun and I'm going to follow it online again with a couple mornings up at a friend's place to watch the crucial stages on her cable tv. My favorite rider, Oscar Pereiro, has had a rough year with all the confusion about whether or not he's the 2006 winner, but I'm hoping he and his team have a good Tour.

I grilled some wonderful buffalo rib-eye steaks last n...
