It's warm and humid but not oppressive so my hike this morning was actually quite pleasant. On Sunday I came across a little nest of newly hatched birds but I didn't have my binoculars or my camera; today I had both so I was able to identify the adult, a red-eyed verio.

I hope they manage to stay in the nest. I'm surprised how active they are and without much in the way of control I can see how they could easily tumble out. Actually I thought I saw three on Sunday and today there were definitely two.

I seem to be on a more even keel now. I just didn't realize the possible ramifications of replacing the yogurt I used to eat with cottage cheese in order to eat less carbohydrate and more protein. Now that I've gone back to the probiotics I feel better and I'm losing weight again. It's always something...
