I was hoping to get to Saratoga at least once this summer but now I don't think I will. Rags to Riches isn't running on Saturday and I will still have the house to myself so I'll stick around here. I can't believe The State Fair starts next week. If I want to plant some fall crops I'd better do it in the coming week.

I had my doctor's appointment yesterday and I'm surprised how well it went. I've only seen this doctor once briefly since my internist took the position of CEO at the hospital several years ago so I really didn't know what to make of him. Now I think if I'd seen him two weeks ago instead of the nurse practitioner I wouldn't have had to spend the money on the echo stress test and carotid doppler! The NP hadn't even mentioned my diet in her notes and when I told the doctor about it he asked how many calories I was eating. I told him I was averaging 1200 and he raised his eyebrows and said, "That's pretty low" but didn't tell me to change anything.

He still wants to check my sugar again. I can't believe it's really a problem; there's no family history.
