It was a good move, going to the fair yesterday rather than today; it sure wouldn't be much fun hanging out with the llamas in today's oppressive heat and humidity.

And I'm glad I front loaded my week with exercise; I've only been out today to change the birdbaths and gather all the ripe and nearly ripe tomatoes which will begin to crack if we get any heavy rain when the weather breaks.

We took a pass on the bloomin' onion and ended up eating rather sensibly. I'm indulging instead in the peaches which are absolutely wonderful this year, a big crop with exceptional flavor. The weather should be comfortable next week and I'll be canning and making jam, chutneys and salsas.
