View MARCYINCNY1's food & exercise for this day
I guess I took the week off. I didn't actually plan it that way but that's pretty much what happened. After working so hard to drop one more pound the week before without success, I just felt peevish about the dieting. That and the hot and humid weather that lasted longer than predicted.
And I still haven't found my handlebar bag and my gloves so I haven't gotten out on my road bike as I'd hoped.
But next week I will need a lot of physical activity to dissipate my anxiety about the baseball playoffs and refocusing on the diet will help too. For me, the playoff series between the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Indians is going to be torturous.
Several years ago, when I couldn't follow the Indians (or any other team) online, I listened to the Yankees' games on a local radio station and I was something of a Yankees fan. They had a less extravagant payroll back then and what was often referred to as a 'journeyman' team. But they kept resigning and acquiring older established players and when they took the field against the younger, more energetic Florida Marlins in the 2003 World Series, they looked staid and joyless.
Then instead of building a team around players like him, they traded that skinny spark plug, Alfonso Soriano for mega-bucks Alex Rodriguez who, I think, has been absolutely poison in the clubhouse and their subsequent post season record is the result.
So now I would love to see a World Series between the Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Cubs (with Soriano)
and I wouldn't care who wins as long as they go seven games. But the Indians are a young team and I don't know if they can get past the damn Yankees or not...
