Moving Slowly

Saturday, September 15th 2007

I saw some movement on the scale this morning; I was beginning to think there was some kind of governor preventing it from reading anything below 142.

I was thinking about dinner out this evening but I'm so close to my CK goal that I'd really like to do everything I can this next week to drop the last two pounds. And with rain most of last night and the chilly temps today I don't think I'll be getting out on a bike today.

Confusion

Friday, September 14th 2007

Another of the cockamamie picotee amarylis that I expected to bloom last winter is just now putting on a fine display.

And the news item that I can't get beyond is the report of the BBC/ABC poll of Iraqis who express "a great degree of dissatisfaction with the US 'surge', with a vast majority of respondents consideri...

Green Again

Monday, September 10th 2007

It never fails to amaze me how quickly the grass recovers after a bit of rain. We had steady rain most of the day yesterday and this morning the back doesn't look nearly as desolate. The chip pile continues to 'cook'.

Off to the park shortly and then I'll try to figure out what I'm doing this week. I expect two chores will consume most of my time: weeding and ironing. It looks like The Mister is going to be working full-time for one of his clients and going into an office again soon so ...
