It's the Little Things

Several little things, besides the arch sleeves, have contributed to my weight-loss effort, not the least of which is the fact that Wegman's didn't carry Perry's Bittersweet Sinphony this summer and now it seems P&C has also dropped it earlier than usual. I'll be finishing off the last of what I have this week and that will eliminate my biggest temptation down the stretch.

Of course going without Bittersweet Sinphony has been made much easier with the knowledge that a friend returned...

Looking Back

It's one of those years when our anniversary falls on Labor Day making for an odd mix of emotions.

It's not a biggie this year, #36, and we're not doing anything special after splurging on a giclée on canvas of Robert Bateman's "Defensive Stand" last year.

Ups and Downs

Came down this morning to discover it was fifty-freakin'-nine degrees in the house. We left the window on the porch open and it got down into the forties last night.

A gorgeous day for the park and very few people on the trails, a good beginning to a week in which I plan to up my exercise and get back into a weight-loss mode.

The weather yesterday was also beautiful and we spent another six hours at the fair, in part, because of it. We came home to listen to the no-hitter pitched b...

Off Again Jiggity-Jig

Off to the fair again jiggity-jig, but today the weather is absolutely perfect. The second Saturday of the fair includes my favorite event, the six and eight horse draft horse hitch competition. Over 150 gorgeous Belgians, Percherons, Clydesdales and Shires. Sometimes there's even a team of gray Percherons. I love to stand outside when they all go by at full trot.
