All Tricks, No Treats

Tuesday, October 30th 2007

$93.80. It's scary. No hobgoblin can compare. Maybe in three weeks we'll just be thankful if it's still under $100.

With this feeling of impending doom I probably shouldn't blog. I'm trying to focus on the beautiful weather we're having and the fact that I can get out on a bike this week but then I see another huge, new Escalade or whatever on the road and I think, "We are so screwed."

Winding Down

Sunday, October 28th 2007

No trouble staying up to watch the end of the baseball game last night. Gale force winds made such a racket I didn't even get much sleep when I finally went up to bed at 1. Magnificent moonlight and the first frost last night. I expect the eggplants that were still looking so good yesterday will be a sad sight today.

Yesterday was beautiful weather and I finally got in a good ride on my road bike. I would have gone further but Jim wasn't around as backup and it's been awhile since I repaired a flat. I'd really like to get in at least one more ride now that I realize I'm in much better shape than I'd thought.

Later in the afternoon I went down to the ho...

The Park

Thursday, October 25th 2007

A good outing at the park yesterday after yoga/Pilates in the morning. I don't know why but I was absolutely elated to see the cairn had been rebuilt and I found a small stone to place on top making it eight stones high. I also noticed for the first time another cairn further down the trail made of fewer, larger stones. I'd love to know who's building them but then might take away from their appeal.

I've also been seeing a big flock of turkeys in one particular area of the park. Twice I...
