Bravo! Oscar Pereiro was finally awarded the yellow jersey in the 2006 Tour de [S]Farce[/S] France yesterday.
The cloud cover finally broke a bit yesterday afternoon so I biked into Fayetteville to do a couple of errands. I just signed up at the Clif Bar 2 Mile Challenge. Of course I won't be able to do much bicycling for the next 5 months or so but in the past couple of years I've very rarely used my car for trips 2 miles or less so I figure I'm meeting the challenge in principle year 'round. And I like Clif bars.
Since I didn't do the Vista Trail on Sunday I was planning to do it today but now the weather looks like I should keep the hike short this morning and come home to work in the garden.
This evening is the first library lecture of the season. (Sponsored by the Friends of the Onondaga County Central Library, the Rosamond Gifford Lecture Series is the largest library-related lecture series in the United States!) Tonight the author is Erik Larson. I'm embarrassed to say I haven't read any of his books but the fact that he always seems to include a murder put me off. Next month's speaker is Tracy Kidder and I have read several of his books but not Mountains Beyond Mountains, about Dr. Paul Farmer's work in Haiti and elsewhere, which I fully intend to read before that lecture.
