Another beautiful fall day here and I expect to spend the rest of it in the yard/garden.
I did my basic loop at the park yesterday but the weather was so nice after so many wet, gloomy days that I took a leisurely pace and stopped frequently.
One thing marred my hike though. I took my camera primarily to get a photo of a great cairn that someone built along side one of the trails. It's been there off and on in various incarnations for a couple of months but when I went past last Thursday it had been rebuilt with some additional stones and the top stones had this perfect tilt that looked as though they could topple over any minute when in fact they were quite stable. The cairn was still intact Sunday evening and since there's less traffic now that the park is closed to camping, I was sure this time it would be there a good while.
But no. Someone knocked it down. One more thing I can't understand. I put the big rock in the foreground on the two rocks that form the base but I leave it to those who are more skilled to rebuild it. I hope someone does rebuild it...
