I got over to the park for a good hike yesterday morning so I did get in my exercise for the week despite being rained out Monday and Tuesday. Rain again this morning and I'm taking my time getting out to the Farmers' Market.

I was pleased to find the cairns were still intact yesterday and I was finally able to get some pictures.



I couldn't however photograph the biggest treat of the day's hike which was walking through a section of tall woods full of hundreds of robins all of whom were making some kind of robin sound, chirping, calling and even a few snippets of song. It was glorious, so much more melodic than the noise of the flocks of grackles, blackbirds and starlings that were so annoying for most of the past month.

The frost was light the other night and didn't do in the last of the tomatoes and eggplants but Sunday night could be the killing frost. Eggplant for dinner tonight.
