View MARCYINCNY1's food & exercise for this day
One thing about being lucky enough to receive the largess of of friends and neighbors who hunt is that I never know when they're going to show up with, say, a beautifully dressed out 10# wild tom turkey. Space in the freezer is getting tight, as it tends to do this time of year, and this morning I'm going to have to figure out how to rearrange things so I can somehow fit in the turkey and eight pints of cooked quince.
As it happened I was stranded yesterday afternoon with a flat tire at the dairy farm where my neighbor shot the turkey in the morning. I knew I was pushing my luck, riding without tools or a patch kit or a spare tube (because I still haven't found my handlebar bag damn it) and Jim wasn't at the house when I left. But it was a gorgeous afternoon so I enjoyed watching the calves frolicking, especially one who was still testing the electrified fence, until Jim could fetch me.
So I've added a bit to my exercise and kept to my targets but still not seeing any change on either of my scales. I don't get it.
(I was going to take a photo of the turkey before I put it in the freezer but that seemed way too disrespectful so I pulled a great pic from learnbirdsongs.com.)
