I now have two older friends who have lost their husbands in the past year and are facing their first holiday season alone. The friend from whom I borrowed a walker this time last year died yesterday after several months of declining health but he was still at home and online until Marilyn took him to the hospital yesterday morning.
A lot of wind and rain but so far none of it freezing. I just hope when the temperature drops that it changes to snow quickly because they're predicting up to or more than 10 inches by late tomorrow.

Like Ginny, I hope you can be of comfort to your friends during the holiday. It is especially hard on those who have lost dear ones around this time of year. ~~~ Beautiful cardinal. I will check out the link.

I'm sorry to hear about your friends. It is so difficult to lose people you are close to. I hope you can be of comfort to the remaining friend who will find the coming days hard. In response to your question, we are also a mixed marriage in that regard. I XC ski and snowshoe. Spouse just XCs because it's easier on his back. I love the cardinal picture. We don't live too far from Germantown. I'll have to check Jayne's photos online. Thanks for the tip!
