First snow day of the season and my first outing on snowshoes if only to get out to make trails to the bird feeders and pack down the snow under the spruce where I broadcast seed for the ground feeders, including this handsome fellow.
I don't think I'll make it to the park today (the county is requesting no unnecessary travel) but I'll get plenty of exercise shoveling. Right now I'm waiting for the repairman, who's supposed to replace the refrigerator fan today naturally, to call sometime between 8 & 9 to let me know exactly when.
I've been informed that the link I posted yesterday wasn't quite right so I'm trying again and I hope there are at least a few people who can see this woman's gorgeous photos:

I got my snow shoes out today, too! I figure if I have to spend time and energy shoveling snow, might as well take some time to play in it, too. We had some weird birds making havoc in the yard right before the storm last weekend. We still have some bird houses out and a roosting box. These big, chunkies were trying to stuff themselves through holes that were much too small. Really fun to watch. I hope you enjoyed your time outside!
