Friday, Dec 28 2007 - Figgy Pudding (on Grandma Donovan's plate)

1/2 cup softened butter
2/3 cup (132g) sugar
1 egg
1 t. vanilla
3/4 t. cinnamon
3/4 cup finely ground dried Calimyrna figs (140g)
1 1/3 cup sifted flour (170g)
3/4 t. baking soda
1/4 t. salt
1/3 cup milk
Mix and steam in a mold for 2 1/2 hours.
Serve warm with lemon sauce and/or hard sauce.

Oh, that's beautiful! Thanks for the explanation. Where does one find Calimyrna figs? I don't think I've ever encountered them before.

So pretty and I love figs ... but I don't know the first thing about steaming. Perhaps you can add an addendum to your entry?
