Monday, Dec 31 2007 - Is it Really Monday?
View MARCYINCNY1's food & exercise for this day
It doesn't feel at all like Monday, it feels like another Sunday. We woke up to a winter wonderland but the snow's already melting and it's just gonna make the trails more muddy. Phooey.
Meanwhile I've reclaimed the kitchen and got things back to what passes for normal. One thing that's been packed away until next year is the steamed pudding mold:
My mother used to steam puddings in a standard cake mold which she covered with foil. I use this covered mold I bought years ago and it's simply a matter of placing it on a rack in a simmering kettle of just enough water so it doesn't float.
I should be able to reclaim my diet and exercise routine too this week. I'm making a pot of pasta e fagioli for one guest tonight and a pork roast tomorrow but nothing really high in calories or fat. A little more figgy pudding but at 250 calories/serving, it isn't as bad as most desserts and it has 2g of fiber!
I don't see any rhyme or reason for the way my weight bounced around the past week or so. It's been back down the last couple of mornings but still not below 140.0 and I'm not going to bother to put anything up until it is.

Marcia,
Yes, 'listening' to the animals can be very enlightening. His name is Rebel Yell. Thanks for asking about him. He has been one of my most fun horses I've had the pleasure of sharing time with. He's been a great show horse and has a brick in front of the Saddlebred museum in Lexington.
Thanks for noticing my absence. I took a week or so off and now realize to my surprise that I was actually missed.
The sports interest can be catching can't it? I've never been too interested until I moved to Lexington 10 years ago. I helps when you have a winning team too!!
Love reading about your trips to the park, weather, and your beautiful pictures. Thanks and Happy New Year!

I've never actually had figgy pudding, but it does sound pretty good!
