Hold On (da,da,da,da), It's Comin' (da,da,da,da)

Sunday, December 16th 2007

All's quiet at the moment, the calm before the storm. The birds are chowin' down like there's no tomorrow. We got a few inches of snow last night and a few inches of sleet this morning so the trick is to figure out when to clear the decks before the winds shift and bring in the real storm.

The Ice Storms

Wednesday, December 12th 2007

A lot of the snow has melted here and the footing was much better than I'd expected yesterday. As I got to the upper campground I heard what sounded like crows mobbing some raptor and sure enough, there was a beautiful barred owl in the pines.
