I haven't been spending much time online the past several days but I have been reading a few CK blogs. I'm glad to hear the critters are doing well.No animals in the household here right now but I do track the local peregrins and I'm happy to report that Juliet, from the 2005 brood, is recovering from a broken beak (ouch) in Toronto and expected to join her mate, Hurricane, before the nesting season.

As anyone who cares to look will notice, I was 250 calories over my target again yesterday. That would be due to the drinking chocolate we had when my recently widowed friend came by in the afternoon. But we had a good visit and never even got around to watching "The Dresser" as we'd planned.Marilyn was surprised to see I'm still wearing the same sweat pants I was wearing 35 pounds ago so I'm taking a moment to acknowledge the value of good elastic. A Caution

Not having seen a lot of movies this past year I can't really say how "Sweeney Todd" and Johnny Depp compare to the other nominees but, as I posted last week, I thought the film was remarkable and Depp perfect.
I hesitate to go so far as to recommend the film to everyone however, since I did avert my eyes during the scene where Todd 'dispatches' one victim after another even though it's all very stylized. Actually the sound effects are probably more disturbing than the vis...

After getting off to a speedy start the paperwhites just stood around for a week or more until just a few days ago. Now the house fairly reeks.
I feel like I've been AWOL for a month. I haven't been nearly as focused on diet & exercise as I was before but it's been gratifying to realize that I've internalized so many changes over the past months and that even without a conscious effort I've been able to maintain my weight and fitness.
