The temperature has not gone below freezing for almost a week. I found a mosquito in the kitchen sink the other morning. We had windows open for two days, sans screens and the house smelled like it usually does in May. All the snow has melted, even the deepest pile in the center of the driveway. I spent Monday and Tuesday outdoors doing yard/garden work, weeding!!!, removing undergrowth along the back property line and feeding the dreaded chipper/shredder...

The low temp this morning was 43º/6º, at 8AM it's 53º/12º and only what were the deepest piles of snow persist. It is not my fault if the weather and the influx of seed catalogues conspire to distract me from everything else. It's just not.

Jim is out of the house this morning and now I'm running late after playing around with his new MacBook Pro. I thought I was gonna be tickled just to get the old PowerBook but the new computer is soooo nice...

Yesterday we picked up Marilyn and had something to eat at Dominick's before going up the hill to The Palace to see "Into the Wild". It was a nice outing on a frigid, starry night. The movie however, wasn't as satisfying as I'd been led to believe. Another case of a book, like "The Perfect Storm", that should never have been made into a movie?
